McKenna Melander
Bio
McKenna grew up in Wyoming. After graduating from high school, she devoted 18 months to volunteer service for her church in the Farmington, New Mexico area, where she lived on the Navajo Nation Reservation and worked closely with members of the local community.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Brigham Young University before attending the J. Reuben Clark Law School, where she received her Juris Doctor in 2024. During law school, McKenna developed strong litigation skills as a member of the Trial Advocacy Team. She also regularly volunteered with the Timpanogos Legal Clinic, a nonprofit organization providing free legal services to individuals in need. In 2023, she was selected to serve as the leader of the Dallas Women Lawyers Association Leadership Class.
McKenna began her legal career in Dallas, Texas, before relocating to Columbus, Georgia. Here, she served as a staff attorney for a judge in the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit, gaining broad experience across domestic, civil, and criminal matters.
At Poydasheff & Sowers, McKenna is dedicated to advocating for individuals and families with professionalism and compassion.
Outside of her legal practice, McKenna enjoys reading, running, and spending time with her family.
